I am unable to access my Google Grant account. How do I get access to my account?

You are not alone. Numerous obstacles can arise in accessing the Google Grant, especially if there is employee turnover or the grant has been dormant for a long time.

Double Accounts:

At EleeHub, we see this with nonprofits nearly every week. The most common issue is where the organization has two or more accounts and cannot access the Grant account.

Here is the workaround using Google Support.

  1. Log into your Google for Nonprofits account.

  2. Review your “Administrators”. You will need one of them later.

  3. On the Google for Nonprofit home page, go to the second section, Google Ad Grants.

  4. If it says Status: Approved, it gives a ten-digit Customer ID.

    1. If it does not say approved or have an account number, you likely need to go through the short activation process.

  5. Click on the “Sign in to Ad Grants link,” or visit https://ads.google.com/home/

  6. This should take you to a Google Ads Account.  If it does, look at the account number in the upper right-hand corner (below).  This should match your customer ID on the previous page. You likely have more than one Google Ad account if it does not.

  7. If the account numbers do not match, have one of your Google for Nonprofits administrators submit this Ad Grants account form.

  8. Fill out all the fields in the last box, copy and paste this text, update “Your Name,” : Google for Nonprofits admin email address,” and insert your organization exactly as it is listed in Google for Nonprofits.

Name: [Your name]

From Email: [Google for Nonprofit admin email address]

On behalf of my organization, [INSERT ORGANIZATION NAME AS MENTIONED ON GOOGLE FOR NONPROFITS ACCOUNT], I give Google my approval to proceed with my request to provide access to the current Ad Grants account in association with our Google for Nonprofit account. Google is not responsible for any impact these changes have on my account, including impact on campaign performance or spending.

  1. Google will typically get back to you within a couple of days. You may ask your administrator to reply again with the exact text in the previous step.

This will help you gain access to your account. Below are a few more resources for you as well. If you get stuck or would like a member of the EleeHub team to troubleshoot via a screen share, don't hesitate to contact us at support@eleehub.com
